Ordering process

To skip the story and order your jellyfish, email me at dressedlilies@gmail.com, and we’ll get all the details sorted out! 🙂

(If you’re like me, you’re not here for the product but the pattern. Well, my dears, this jellyfish was based on a pin I found on Pinterest that leads to this landing page, but no longer a pattern. Good luck, have fun, and happy making!)

Jabahri is a principal of No Sparrow Falls.

If your application to be Jabahri’s handler passes, you will receive an official NSP handler ID badge. You will also receive a copy of the story of how the principal came to be protected by NSP. These will arrive along with your principal.

Jabahri is currently at a NSF safehouse. Any accepted applications to be Jabahri’s handler will be responded to slower than normal. Jabahri will have to be returned to NSF headquarters and given a medical examination. After this he will be transferred to their new handler’s home.

The creature can only be a jellyfish, but not one like any John has seen before. The head and tentacles are a wide array of colors, as though God had finished creating every rainbow for all time, had more colors left over, and decided to give them all to this jellyfish. It is large and looks made of something fibrous—wool or yarn or something. And it has eyes. Eyes that blink at him.

“Who are you?”

The creature in the small room lifts its multi-colored, domed head. “My name is Jabahri,” it returns in a voice as soft as it looks, “I am the last resident of this castle.”

“I’ll say.”

“The castle was attacked long ago by a terrible enemy, most likely long gone, now. My people fled. I was forgotten, here; the last inhabitant and protector to bear witness to all the sounds and sights, now as faded as the walls.” Jabahri spreads his tentacles out in a fan.

“I miss the children I used to play with; the people who would love me and sleep with me. Most of all, I miss the hugs. Do you know anywhere I could go where they wouldn’t forget me? Where I would get hugs and be loved, and never left in solitude again? I earned a doctorate of snuggling from the Jellyfish School of Excellence that I’ve been dying to put to use, again.”

“Oh?” John doesn’t really know how to respond to that.

Jabahri nods enthusiastically, his head bouncing above his tentacles. “They’re the most prestigious jellyfish school, you know.”

“I didn’t; I’ll take your word for it.” John considers all of this. It feels a bit surreal—talking to something he’s pretty sure is yarn and stuffing.

Jabahri nods, on a roll, now. “I got top of my class in bedtime snuggles, and was second tentacle for sick-days snuggles. I’m also a very good traveler—I’m hard to loose with all my colors.”

John smiles a little. “You know, I think I know the perfect home for you, Jabahri. Come with me.”

John picks the jellyfish up, and carries him out of the old room, wondering how he’ll ever explain this to his wife. Maybe he won’t have to, if his friend at No Sparrow Falls can pick up this Jabahri Jellyfish creature before his wife gets home.

A man can hope, right?
