This flower granny square is worked in rounds where the chains count as a stitch.
Ch up=However many chains you use to equal a stitch. I use 2 for dc’s and 1 for sc’s.
The Middle Circle
- RND1: MC6 (Sc) join into first stitch (6)
- RND2: ch up *inc* (dc) join into last ch (12)
Starting the Flower
Attach color 2 & 3 (Capitals is flower petal color, lowercase is background)
- RND3: CH UP, DC IN SAME STITCH, dc *INC, dc* around, moving background stitch in same stitch as the ends of petal 3, 5, and 8 so you have 8 petals at the end. join into last ch. (24)
- RND4: CH UP, DC IN SAME STITCH, DC, *inc, DC, STARTING IN SAME STITCH DC2TOG, DC IN SAME STITCH (THE ONE DC2TOG ENDS IN)* join into last ch (40)
- RND5: CH2, *INC, DC, dc, dc, DC* join into last ch (48)

The Border
- RND6: ch1, BLO slst to the second-to-last stitch of the petal you’re on, *sc in last stitch of the petal, hdc in same stitch, dc, tc in same stitch, ch3, tc, dc in same stitch, hdc, sc in same stitch, BLO slst across 2 petals, stopping in second-to-last stitch* repeat from * for 3 sides of the square, BLO slst across last petal, join into last ch.
- ch up, dc through both loops of round 5 on the stitches you BLO slst’d into on round 6, *dc into the sc, hdc, dc, and tc of round 6, dc in ch3, tc in ch3, ch2, tc in ch3, dc in ch3, dc into the sc, hdc, dc, and tc of round 6, dc through both loops of round 5 on the stitches you BLO slst’d into on round 6* join into last ch
